We know how annoying it is when things don’t work out or take unnecessarily long time to figure out. We work every single day to make our products as simple and intuitive as possible. If something does not work optimally we are here to help you.
We have compiled all user manuals and technical documents in one place. Find documents about your product in the list below.
Please note that the videos are intended as guidelines. We recommend that you read the installation guide for a detailed description.
Here you will find answers to the most common questions we receive from our customers.
To access the setup menu, the charging robot power needs to be turned off and on again. It is only active for a short time (5-30min depending on SW version).
The user menu, on the other hand, is activated by holding down the touch button for 5 seconds.
NB If you have a newly installed charging robot with old software, there may be differences between the wifi interface and what you see in the user and installation guide. New functionality will be implemented continuously via automatic software update.
Activate the robot’s local wifi and log in with the supplied pin code. Then you will find this in the menu and can connect to wifi in the usual way if you have local wifi available where the charging robot is mounted.
Yes you can, you can search Easee on any App Store.
The backplates must be programmed for charging to work. You must do the programming via the Wi-Fi network that the charging robot shares, you must turn the power on and off to access the setup menu.
If you have installed two charging robots then it is important that both backplates are programmed with the same charging robot. This is to make the load balancing work. If the bottom light in the light strip is blinking, this means that the backplate (s) are not programmed correctly.
Setup of a charging robot. (Master).
Setup of 2-3 charging robots.
Solution: Set the fuse value down to 32A and fill in the contact form at the bottom of the page. Then we will search to get your software updated. Enter the serial number of your charger robot that you find on the front of the electronics or on the box it came in.
We always recommend setting up a 3-phase cable / course, then you are prepared for the future. The Easee charging robot automatically detects nets, and we have developed a software that, in combination with the hardware, allows charging on 3-phase IT networks safely. The total power becomes available on all the boxes that are connected and installed on the same course / cable.
If you have 3 phase IT network connected to the robot, then 3 phase charging can be activated during settings – power control. There you can disable “allow only 1 phase”.
Only Tesla model 3 can make use of max 3-phase charging on IT networks and charge with 11kW.
Some cars may also support charging power of around 7,5-8,5kW. You will find more information about this in our knowledgebase.
On the older software versions, the LED strip glows green. This has changed to a white dot at the bottom of the strip of light in the latest versions.
The entire strip of light will glow white when the electric car is plugged in and pulse up and down when the electric car is charging.
Then the charging robot has given an error message. Remove the charging cable from the robot and the car, then make another attempt to charge.
If the problem persists, fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page here and enter the serial number of your box (s), then we will log in and check what has happened.
No, you must use an authorized electrician for this type of installation.
Yes, the product is designed for cable entry at the top. It is taken into account that water can enter if the gaskets do not completely seal against the conduit.
Yes, as long as load control is part of the charging equipment (such as the Easee charging robot), it is allowed to connect several chargers on the same protection. This is further explained in NEK400 (NEK400: 2018) in section 722.302 and in section 722.533.101. Easee charging robot complies with IEC 61851-1: 2017.
No, it is recommended that an external earth fault protector type A be installed at the charging rate in accordance with current regulations. On the other hand, if double insulated cable (II installation) is used, only ordinary overload protection in the fuse box is needed. The B protection of the charger will not be affected by, or affect the function of, other external protectors.
The built-in protector in the charger is electronic and turns off the power of the electric car if it measures a DC leakage current of 4-6mA and / or an AC leakage current of 20-30mA between the charger robot and the car.
This should thus give a certain selectivity in the system, so that any external A protection is normally not triggered by a ground fault (AC and / or DC). The electronic protection in the charger is easily reset by plugging the charging cable out and in of the electric car’s charging connector.
It is now a requirement that the connection point must be protected by a surge protector. This may be the surge protector that is in front of the entire installation.
PE, L1 and L2.
Yes, but this requires external hardware that connects to your power meter. You can buy and install Tibber Pulse (only in Norway).
We are also developing the Easee Equalizer to enable dynamic load balancing between the household and the charging circuit. This device will be for the Norwegian market first, additional countries are expected to be supported by time.
Yes you can either use the Easee app or the local interface to add Easee keys (Any RFID like keytags, contacless payment card etc) or the local WiFi interface.
WiFi interface: By activating the wifi interface. Enable rfid access only and access manage access. Then you can add rfid pieces. Remember to give the piece a name before saving. The software requires this.
Easee app: Manage your Easee keys in your user profile.
Yes, log in to the charger robot with the supplied pin code or using the Easee app.
Some types of charging cables require a car connected for this to work.
